Purpose of the Role
This is a rare opportunity to become a recognised thought leader in a strategically important field, collaborating with like-minded innovators and scientific experts to shape and commercialise the future of new materials in harsh environments.
As well as working with traditional refractory materials you will be involved with new developments where advanced refractory properties are being used for ground-breaking progress in areas such as hypersonics, space and defence to name but a few.
As the Materials in Harsh Environments Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving this exciting capability in new ways on a global scale, supported by an extremely well-appointed suite of equipment and associated scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities
About You
You will be educated to a minimum level of a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science/Engineering or a related discipline; a postgraduate qualification would be advantageous. Of course, we expect you to have a strong technical understanding of materials in harsh environments, their applications and associated processes and have a history of practical, hands-on experience within the materials in harsh environments sector.
The role is one of a team player, with much collaboration both within Lucideon and in the marketplace with existing clients and new prospects, so we expect you to have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Successful delivery of client programmes is a critical factor, so a demonstrable ability to plan, lead and deliver large technical projects as well as managing high-pressure technical decisions is essential. Ideally, you will be eligible for UK security clearance due to the nature of the role.
